There are some definite similarities, such as the ISBN search you mention (although they search different sources--Book Collector has more retailers, LT more libraries). LT's tagging is neat, but so are the neatly defined and very detailed categories of BC. Then there's the question of whether you prefer using a Web service/community or a program that lives on your system. I'd say there's room enough in the world for both of 'em.
