PC Issues With Restarting

The Following are my Specs

AMD64 3700
2g of DDR 400 Memory
eVGA 7900GS PCIE w/256 Megs of Ram

Issue
PC Will blank Out Screen with No Input Signal and restart itself after 3o Seconds and be fine. Problem is intermittent May happen 4 to 6 times 1 day , 1 time the next , or sometimes not at all.

Things I have tried
Completely Reformatting and Reinstalling Windows , Funny thing is It Even Did it During The Reformat process One time.

Took Out Vid Card and ran it for 48 Hours Straight Without Powering Down other PC , No Issues There.

Swapped Power Supplys With The other PC. My PC Still Continued its Restart , Other PC With my Power Supply had No Issues.

My Thoughts
I am strongly thinking it is the mobo here , Vid Card Had No Issues on the other PC , Power Supply Had No Issues on The other PC. My PC Kept restarting with a different Power Supply So It Only Makes Sense.

Other Things
A Few Times During Restart I had To Restart it myself cause the keyboard would not work. It Did work after restart however.

Any advice or Suggestions would be Nice here. And If it is a MOBO any suggesttions on a good replacement so I can still use my socket 939 AMD , or If you find a good combo with new processor I would welcome them as well.

Have you tried using different RAM? Also, the name and model of the motherboard your running may help others diagnose this proble as well as myself.

Thanks.

Excellent, thanks for posting your system information.

I would say at this point that #1, you might have learned a new lesson, as faulty RAM does cause these types of incidents. But you might have answered this yourself, as the motherboard could also be dieing, shortening out, that sort of thing.

Other than what you did to try and troubleshoot the problem, I'd say the rest of your hardware is fine, as you stated that you've tried running a different power supply with no avail, along with a different video card. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Before I finish helping you here, I would like you to wait and see what other posters say, as they might tell you something different from what I've told you.

ALSO, before I forget

Does this happen DURING windows or when you boot up your computer? If your PC is blanking out at boot-up with no video at boot-up, then its definitely a hardware problem, and not a spyware problem.

You're probably correct about the motherboard, however......is there a small fan , on the motherboard, on the chipset, north or south bridge?, if so, does it/they work ? , if not, then that could be your problem, the ASUS A8xxxx series of motherboards had chipset/northbridge/southbridge , fan faliure problems, it's worth a look. and a cheap fix. and could well be the cause of your problems

Restarting
Pandianightcross - how old is the system?

If its less than 365 days it would be under warranty, however, it sounds as if you have already replaced the PSU, since I have never seen an HP desktop in this class with a 500 Watt PSU.

Memory Problems?
Well, mphenterprises always talks about the wierd effects of a bad memory module. If the problem does not return, when you have some time, take out the one good module and put in the suspect module. If the problem returns, then replace it, matching the specs exactly.
