AV System Care

My husband has downloaded this awful worm and I have been trying to get it removed and finally was sucessful with the exception of it being posted as his screen saver when windows has finally done loading. Any suggestions! I am running Spyhunter 2.9 again to see if will remove it although I do not feel that it will. Thanks for any suggestions

Hi Kygirl. I have moved this post into its own thread. Please do not latch on to someone else's thread. The original thread that you were under has nothing to do with your situation and may not have received the attention it deserves if it were to have remained in that thread.

Now, that being said, is Spyhunter the only security you have?

Do you have any salt laying around somewhere? It'll make the worm DESOLVE, thus leaving the computer worm free.

If it posted as a screensaver, then i think you can just delete the screensaver manually.

"SpyHunter" & "AV System Care"
{size:18px}[/size:e85387cde2]:D Hi KyGirl :

AntiMalware Expert Eric Howes says the following on his "Rogue/Suspect"
site at www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm :
"Enigma's SpyHunter anti-spyware application was listed on this page primarily because of the company's history of employing aggressive, deceptive advertising . The company was also known for exploiting the name "spybot" in its domain names and online advertising. These objectionable business practices were employed primarily from late-2002 to mid-2004.
Sometime during summer of 2004 the company halted the most obnoxious and objectionable aspects of its online advertising. It also unloaded all the "spybot" domains (which were promptly picked up by Paretologic for its XoftSpy anti-spyware application).

SpyHunter -- at least in its current state -- cannot be recommended because of its mediocre performance as an anti-spyware scanner. Testing indicates that it does not recognize some well-known spyware installations and has difficulty removing critical spyware/adware files even from those it does recognize . Given the many excellent competing anti-spyware applications that are available (some for free), users would do better looking elsewhere for trustworthy anti-spyware protection. "

Best to use ONLY products from Eric's "Trustworthy List" at
www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm#trustworthy ; the
Best 2 FREE ones are AVG AntiSpyware & SUPERAntiSpyware .

IF you actually HAVE "AVSystemCare" on the computer, the easiest way
to REMOVE it is to use the Good & FREE "RogueRemover" from
www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php ; however, IF you are just
getting PopUps trying to get you to download "AVSystemCare", you have
a very serious malware problem that should be resolved ONLY under the
guidance of an experienced, trained, Volunteer Malware-fighting Expert
found on those "types" of Support Forums, such as the one at
"SpyWare BeWare" ( unless TeMerc shows up here ) .
