Hackers Leak Antipiracy Vendor's E-Mail
They have more troubles than just the leaked emails. A VOIP call with the state of New York's AG office was also intercepted and published. Ironically, the topic of the telephone call was the breached security of MediaDefender:

The above link has a text transcript as well as a link to the actual telephone call in MP3 format. In my opinion, this is all just the beginning of MediaDefender's woes -- they've made so many enemies in the P2P world that it was bound to happen sooner or later.

These people sound no different than the pirates they are after, Actually worse, Why crowd the internet with crap files and waste bandwidth?

Bandwidth is key. Did they get a warrant for the wiretapping they are going to do? Isn't it illegal to put spyware on someone's PC and damage it?

This company's actions are moronic. If you want to stop piracy change your business model and pricing?

What's funny is the MediaDefender-Defenders received an e-mail from the CEO of MediaDefender. He claimed that their IP was logged and they were talking to the FBI. The only problem is that no one in their right mind would break into anything with their own IP, and not only that, but you have to have at least $10k (us) in damages for the FBI to come in. I hardly believe that they lost 10k from stolen e-mails.

Even if this group eventually gets caught, someone else will just take their place. MediaDefender should worry about dumb employees over hackers.
