Which web mail service do you primarily use?

I use Hotmail because I like the interface and general feel and ease of use. Yahoo!'s pretty good too. I gues I'm one of the few people that was unimpressed with Gmail.

If there are any Netscape faithful here, they are going to discontinue their mail service and move all accounts to AIM Mail in August.

Email
I use multiple email accounts but the one I use most often is my isp pop mail. I use Eprompter to preview incoming emails on all my accounts and delete the spam before it reaches my computer.

I'm sorry for having to bring up this old thread, but it is a good thread so I decided I might as well make a post in it.

Currently, I use the email account from my Internet Service Provider, through POP in Mozilla Thunderbird. I find it is probably the best and easiest to use, I like email clients over webmail, altough portability isn't all that great, otherwise it has good features.

I've been using the internet for a long while now, and throughout that time I have switched and experienced many different email providers.

First, I started using the email address that came with my Internet package when I ordered my dialup long ago, which was my email from my ISP. At that time, Netscape Communicator 4.7 was the 'top thing' so I was using that, and I can't remember what email client I used, probably something bundled with Netscape. Who knows...

After a while, I decided to switch to Hotmail. At that time, Hotmail didn't have its blue interface, I can't even remember what interface it did have either. So I stuck with Hotmail, probably for a year or two...

Then the world started to crumble over (or at least mine did) and I started to randomly switch back and forth and back and forth throughout various email account providers, mainly free webmail ones on the internet, like Yahoo, and I used that mail.com thing and many other addresses. It was funny because I used to send out a new email every couple days to all my family & friends stating that I changed my address, once again.

After that, I got more civilized in the email community again, and went back to Hotmail. But not for long, I used Hotmail for a while and decided I didn't like it anymore. Then I moved to Yahoo and sticked with them for a while and back to Hotmail I was. I created a new Hotmail account this time, as my old email address was getting filled with spam (this was before I learned not to enter my email everywhere on the internet). At that time, Hotmail introduced their 250MB of storage or something (before that it was 25MB I think, and my inbox was like at 99% the whole time).

Then I switched to Gmail and used it for a while, but because of its 'automatic' type interface, it wasn't exactly dialup friendly when loading, at least not for me. (BTW, I have 28.8k, not 56k). But at that time I kept using Gmail...

Then back to Yahoo, created a new email address and stuck with them for a while, and then I decided enough is enough. I get a lot of digital camera pictures come to my inbox of family, etc. etc. and it took forever to load it from Yahoo and other webmail providers, so I went back to my ISPs service, and I called them to change my address, because the old one was also filled up with spam.

And that leads me to where I am today... still with my ISP, been with them since about June now, and planning to stick with them for a long while yet. Even though it must download the pictures since its through an email client with POP service before you can even view that message or messages after that, which can be annoying at times, it still does it much faster and less annoying and less hassiling than a webmail service.

Thats about it... wow, I just go on and on about what I've done in the past while in all of my posts, don't I? Heh. 8)

I got Hotmail working in Thunderbird using an extension from Mozdev.com. I had to change some ports around, but it works perfectly now. Saved me $20 of subscibing to Hotmail Plus so that I could read it in an e-mail client. What I really want is to read it in Opera Mail, but I guess without extensions I can't do much in that department. Oh, well. Thunderbird's not bad.Meh, I love Thunderbird, its a great client compared to Outlook Express. Opera Mail, I have never tried it so I don't know what its like. Yeah, I know there are options for having free POP mail from companies like that, including that yPops email thing for Yahoo!

I use Yahoo! Mail because it is a simple page without a lot of HTML and flash so it loads pretty quickly.

I find it easiest to use my website as my email, and use Outlook to process it.

I guess I feel like spreading myself out there a bit... while my primary one is Hotmail I do have Yahoo and GMail accounts as well. As for using my ISP's they do have a web mail interface that I sporadically use, e.g. every few months clean out mostly.

I set up the Hotmail one back in 1994 so it is easily my oldest e-mail account. :D
