ubuntu in schools

I wanted to have a class in school for linux, specifically ubuntu. What arguments could I use for it and how would I describe what you would learn in it?

Interesting! :D I found this three good articles on the "Why Linux?" theme:

There is just enough info there to prepear a small talk. Find the right words and connect like a puzzle (I know It's not easy, but worth the job:-)

Have fun!

P.S. Google searching would be of good help to you ;-)

Re: ubuntu in schools
Hi kcithred2,
If you needed to give an argument for a Linux/Ubuntu course, I'd show how Linux/Ubuntu has so many diifferent Graphical User interfaces(GUI(such as GNOME,etc.)), or the way "open-source" works. Here is a comparison about Linux vs. Windows (click here).
Also, here are some other "why Linux" articles:

Hope this helps,

P.S. Here's the Linux Site, and Ubuntu Site.

Re: ubuntu in schools
There are many reasons.

The main one for me is freedom. There are many tools available for Ubuntu that might be on average shareware or commercial for Windows Vista/XP/etc.
