If you're using Microsoft Windows ME/98/95 (not XP or other newer OS) and need your computer to be synced with the new Daylight Savings Time, you can download tzedit.zip here:
http://www.softshape.com/download/tzedit.zip
The utility is from Microsoft. Simply unzip and read the TZEDIT.HLP file for instructions on how to use it. It's very simple to use, although I recommend backing up your registry before using it since that's where it does its magic. Once you've used it, you won't have to worry about DST until the infinite wisdom of Congress decides it's time to muck around with it again.

Re: Are Your Gadgets Ready for the Time Change?

Hi, ImaPhake. I have Windows Vista Home Premium on my Laptop. Can you tell me how to get my Clock Gadget, and Windows Time ready for the time change this coming Sunday? Or, will Vista upgrade them automatically..... poof, ping... the new time is..... ???

BTW, just for fun, your avatar looks like a politician, are you sure you weren't involved in changing the time? :0 oooo, just for fun, LOL

ps: I kinda like that it doesn't get dark at 4 in the afternoon, and the kids can more safely go Trick or Treating when it's still daylight.

Windows Vista and XP will automatically take care of the time, no need to worry. Only older operating systems need to use a utility like tzedit because they no longer receive updates from Microsoft.

My avatar is Smilin' Bob. I guess you could call him a "politician" for a certain male enhancement supplement hawked on TV. I don't use it myself (not that there's anything wrong with that) but found his image to be perfect for an anonymous online persona. We're all phakes, doncha know. :p

Thanks for the info, it really takes a load off my shoulders. I hope I didn't offend you by saying your avatar looks like a politician. It kinda looks more like that guy Colvert from TV (don't know his first name).... And I think he's decided to run for President..... :0 ...?

Hi, ImaPhake. Well, I got the skinny on the name of the guy your avatar looks like. His name is Steven Colbert (sorry for mispelling before) and he's the talk-show host for The Colbert Report, on Comedy Central.

He really did file to get on the ballot as a Democratic candidate in So. Carolina. But he was rejected 13-3 and get this, the $2500 filing fee will be returned to him.... Maybe he can donate the $ to a good cause. B-) Better luck next time, Mr. Colbert... LOL
