Yeah, I really feel for those folks. We went through that here in '98. It wasn't any fun. I slipped on the ice and broke my collar bone, and that wasn't very pleasant either. coastie65

Hey snorg, think of all that healthy exercise you're getting, when other people are sitting around and getting fat and unhealthy. coastie65

Re: How COLD is it right now where you live?
Yeah, I guess it isn't too healthy for bad knees. Mine is my back that has been wrecked on numerous ocassions over the years. my knees aren't all that spiffy either, but functional. I have had cortisone injections in my knees which helped. It hit 79 down here yesterday but only about 60 now. My driveway is 12' x about 90' and that is long enough, although we've been in a snow drought since 2000. You get shoveled out maybe you might want to stock some good brandy eh? That stuff will keep the fires burning. coastie65

Re: How COLD is it right now where you live?

right now its just above freezing at 33 degrees.

Every single weather report I looked at said that we were getting anywhere from 6 inches to a foot and a half of snow this weekend. No snow whatsoever fell. Just a little bit of sleet and freezing rain. and yesterday it was windy as hell with 50 mph winds and gusts up to 70+ mph.

I was mad at first because I thought that school wouldn't be cancelled today, but it was. The power was out. yesterday it was out for like half the town (including me)

Re: How COLD is it right now where you live?

Hey Adama! That picture you posted is just around the corner from where I live!(just kidding) . Actually That's what I have been doing for the last couple of days. We, in Ottawa, Just received, via Mother Nature, another healthy dose of fresh snow, 37 centimeters to be exact. That translates to 18 inches in just under 24 hours. With that we are seeing and feeling winds in the 50 to 60 miles per hour. This is the most snow we've had on this date since the second WW. The temp to go along with this snow is now -18C. What A Mess!!!. AM Now DREAMING of California!!!

Well, it's always fun to play in the snow up here; I feel sorry for those in the south and west that don't get snow very often. :^0

Well, a big downside to snow is that in the spring, it all melts into icy sludge . . . which believe me, is NOT fun.
