Microsoft Admits Vista Update Glitch
The hopeless operating system was crashing after every update since past four manths but on thursday it could not even boot. Could not do system restore, had to back up my data spending bucks and re-install it. DOnt know when Vista stops its brainless updates. Thought they have learnt enough from hundreds of XP updates.

I am running Vista Home Basic, and got this update too, and have noticed my PC is acting strange! I am having problems now viewing and uploading certain files to online sites such as yahoo videos. Another Microsoft mistake, and it does NOT surprise me!!!X-(

If they ever force me to use Vista instead of XP, I will scrap my PCs and learn to use a slide rule.

Microsoft Admits Vista Update Glitch
Wow! I have never tried Vista but know every magazine knows its good copy to say an upgrade is bad, dispite it always being the same problem (driver issues, duh). So I'm gonna whine about how I was a stupid early adopter use uses something I hate. Wah! Vista sucks! Wah!

On that note, people cried about XP SP2 breaking things. But SP2 made XP waaay better.
Same thing for Vista SP1.

I find it hard to believe that anyone unable to come to grips with Vista, and being frustrated enough to scrap their PC, would be able to recognize a slide rule let alone learn how to use it, (theere are no help screens)!

People should stop writing crap they know nothing about. People should get a life and stop lying just because they are sitting behind a keyboard and are free to type crap.

I am the LAN Administrator of a medium size company in New York and I run my Network very well and secure.

I deployed WSUS for updating all servers and work stations. I run Vista Business at my station as well as XP SP2. We have more than 20 servers running 2003 Enterprise and a few 2000 Advanced servers. I have found ZERO problems with patches and at no time have I seen this error with regards to Vista.

These people complaining are just lying and have nothing better to do.

They should stop using computers completely and go back to slide rule, even though I can't think they'll be able to use those slide rule. DUMB, STUPID, LIES, MS haters are what they are.

Microsoft Admits Vista Update Glitch
I love Vista. I bought it as soon as it was released and put it on two of my home computers. We have never had an issue with it.

On my own computer I went from Win2K which was the best Windows O/S ever and I think its great. At work I still use XP and will go to Vista as soon as they let me.

People who complain about an O/S they don't even use, or better yet, complain about the O/S they are using but don't switch, are very strange.

Re: Microsoft Admits Vista Update Glitch

Vista's fine if you're using your machine at the office or at home, just surfing the net or looking at pictures or videos.

As a gamer I found Vista to be way too demanding on my cpu and computer as a whole so I'll most definately be sticking with XP.

Although I'm more than sure my new home built "beasty" could handle Vista, I'm gonna slide.

Vista simply adds too many "whistles & bells", and after installing a new OS the first thing I always do is uninstall those whistles & bells and anything that might contribute to slowdown or "lag" in any way.

When I heard a couple years ago that XP might be going the way of ME because of Vista, the first thing I did was run to Best Buy and grab two copies of XP Home Ed.

Re: Microsoft Admits Vista Update Glitch

I agree with your point where gaming is concerned. I am not much of a gaming fan and only play Diablo 2 Lord of Distruction. This game is several years old and will not play on Vista. I tried it but it caused my screen and video to go wacko. I play it on XP SP2 and it work well for me. I suppose in time there will be games made that will work great on Vista.

The bells and things does not bother me as I tend to push an OS to it's limits and I am curious about why it work and why not. I like to dig deep to find any glitch an OS has but so far I am satisfied with Vista.

The rule of thumb is, use only apps that is written for vista (not even Nero 6.6 will work) Most people hate an OS because they can't use older apps but that's their view point.

I can remember many post from people complaining that any and all Windows based OS was crapware and full of bugs, insecure etc. I remember also the changes made in XP SP2 and the noise people made. A secure OS will not allow programs to access the Kernel, therefore new apps must be written that conform to the new security.

That said, it will be some time before most people respect Vista for what it's worth; secure, bells and many things not available in the older OS's. I know one thing, I have not read an article whereby people play many games on Linux and MAC OS because those are not made for those reasons.

Imagine a time when all Windows based OS is used for productivity only and will not allow games, video, music etc. that we are now able to use. I think people will go batty.

My point is that a user should be mindful of his/her needs and the user should choose what's most impotant to them. Stick with XP if you use older apps, go Vista if you bought a new PC and will not use older apps. Use drivers signed by MS for use in said OS. Stop downloading crapware that cause the system to crash; it's not the system but the crapware that crashed.

Re: Microsoft Admits Vista Update Glitch
Some time ago I was merrily using 98SE and Millenium came along, waited for a year to it finish baking, then along came XP waited 18 months for it to finish baking, now it's Vista with the same story, think I'll wait for a while, maybe till it finishes baking, but then I think I said that

Re: Microsoft Admits Vista Update Glitch

Doesn't WSUS control how patches are deployed?
The errors seem to have affected HOME users
And I do not think you have to hate M$ to figure out that Vista is crap

Re: Microsoft Admits Vista Update Glitch

I agree completely.

Vista is a visionary product that will only become better with time.

Vista is "ahead of the game" in respect to it's future. As game and software devolpers begin to utilize Vista and understand its potential, we'll see many more games and such being developed for it.

Right now it's still a baby. As it grows it very well could become the OS standard for PC.

It all depends on how well Microsoft handles it.

If Vista were to become a stable gaming platform, I would buy it. And if it becomes the standard for most software released I'll have to buy it.

Being envolved in art, photography, and motion pictures to a small degree, I could employ Vista, but since I use several computers to help do my work it's to my advantage to have the same OS installed on all.

We'll definately hear more about Vista in it's (more than likely), long future.

And this is supposed to surprise us? This is news? This is just one more nail in the coffin of the worst POS OS ever pawned off on the consumer.
