It is amazing to see firms like Google even talk about features like auto complete. This feature has been on yahoo for over ten years.

I think the future is for free-online in-the-cloud application-service-providering companies like thinkfree, and eDeskOnline to rope in enough VC money to become the next revolution.

Yahoo has had auto-complete on the iPhone for over 10 years?!? Wow, and I thought the iPhone just came out six months ago. Silly me.

Hi GICodeWarrior and welcome to PCWorld. :-)

I do not believe that is what Sanjiv meant. Yahoo's website search engine has the ability to auto-complete the data you enter. Now, I do not think it has been around for ten years but I do not believe he or she meant to infer that the iPhone has been around for ten years.

Hi Sanjiv. I do not believe this is a feature specific to Yahoo. Any form field within Internet Explorer, and more recently browsers like Firefox and Opera, allow the user to select if he or she wants the auto-complete function is turned on within the browser. If this feature is turned on, any form field will have the ability to "remember" the previous data that was entered into that field.
