Two words: Mac mini

Only slightly larger, but doesn't suffer from being underpowered, has an optical drive, supports high resolutions, and has IEEE 1394, 802.11a/b/g, gigabit ethernet, and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. Best of all, it can run OS X instead of Windows. (Note: Masochists can install and run Windows (including Vista) on the mini.)

Not enough video power to play DVD or WMV movies, so not for me.

You're absolutely correct. WinPCs are still better at gaming, except the PC mentioned in this article, which only supports DirectX 7, while the mini supports DirectX 9.

Uh, according to specs on its site, the DVI cable plugs into the board, and the maximum resolution is 1920 x 1200 - one of the chipset's selling points is its ability to display HD resolutions.

Re: Build a PC So Small It'll Fit in a Drive Bay
You want a gaming PC? Buy a PS3 and install Linux on it. The nice thing about doing THAT is, when you buy a PS game for it, there will never be the slightest, tiniest doubt that it will WORK as soon as you stick it in the drive, even if you buy that game three years from now. Not so with a PC gaming rig... not that there's much of a flood of PC games coming out any more compared to back in the 90's when the newer video game consoles started deflating the PC gaming bubble.

As for the Mac, I'd probably say something nice about Linux being a bridge to OSX, since most Linux apps can be ported to OSX with a recompile and a little testing since they're both POSIX compliant OSs... but then again what do I need a Mac for when I gots a nifty Linux machine?

I like this version of PC vs Mac video...

I like the 'dark side switch' video, too.

As far as the story goes, micto-ATX and mini-ITX machines have been around for years. (YAWN).

Wanna teensy PC in a quirky case? This site has lots of them going back to 2003. This one's my favorite. There's even a modded Commodore 64 case, a gumball case, toaster and a waffle iron case. Though I think the toaster guy had some sort of 'Red Bull' fetish.
