RIM is and always has been reliant on their word-of-mouth "executive" user base. They haven't done any marketing I can even recall. Try imagining a RIM "iTunes-like" TV spot that touches tween-ers and other Facebook users (not lurkers).
What experience/successes does RIM have marketing to a finicky consumer crowd?
