Please Help! I can't find the motherboard I want???

I am looking for a motherboard that will support 2 quad core Xeon E4500 processers. That's not to hard to find but I also want a board that has 2 x16 PCI Express slots with support for SLI. It will need to have at least 4 SATA or SATA2 ports with RAID 5 support. Other than that I am a little more flexible. I have searched and searched but I just can't seem to find the board I want. Anyone know of a good place to look or of such a mother bard? Please help I want to build my new system ASAP but can't find what I am looking for, thanks

This is the closest that I could find in my brief looksie. Could not completely confirm if it supported SLI or not, but at least one review suggested it. Nothing about SLI in the specifications on the manufacturer's website. Also, not completely sure if it will support the specific Xeon processor that you mentioned. Don't know if this helps or not, but thought I would give it a brief try.

Thanks for the help. However to does not look like this board supports that chip.(hmm I wonder why?) I am starting to find that my lack of knowledge when it comes to hardware is my real problem. I was not even asking the right question. I don't even play video games, I don't really need SLI. I am now looking for a board that supports 2 Xeon 5310's. I think I found the one that I want. So my search is nearing and end. Anyway thanks for the help. Oh and by the way the chip I asked about in the first post doesn't even exist.

Frankly, you kind of had be baffled by the Xeon E4500 processor. I am not sure that such a beast even exists. You sure you are not confusing with a E4500 Core 2 Duo? That is where I had difficulty.

And I was a little suprised by the desire for SLI with a Xeon processor. Xeon processors are typically used for server based applications and thus generally have no need for SLI (which is mainly a benefit for gaming systems as you noted). Thus, you had me wondering about what you were planning a Xeon based system for that needed SLI.

Hi jpelser,

It sounds like the motherboard you want would be for a server if I'm not correct; www.newegg.com is your best bet for computer parts in my opinion.

You are exactly right Smax013. I was confusing the Xeon with the Core 2 Duo. A Google search I did returned that info, see for yourself. Like I said I have a huge problem with hardware, there are just so many variables. And yes I am building a server but will be using it as my desktop PC. I am planning on running a whole domain on one system. I will be using Ubuntu Linux as my VM host server (off the domain) with Windows Server 2008 as my domain controller, with Exchange 2003. I am planning on setting up a few accounts for friends and then migrating to Exchange 2007. I will also be running VM, Vista and XP. I am planning on running 3 monitors and wanted to go with SLI for increased performance but like I said I don't really need it. It's just that when I set out to build this system I did not want to compromise because I have always done so in the past. Also FenderGuy2112 thanks for the tip. I will be buying the motherboard, 4 of 8 hard disks, two heat syncs, fans and two 600 watt power supplies from Newegg. I am ordering most of it tonight, all I can afford anyway. Thanks for the help guys I will post the complete list of hardware once I am done.
