Talk about Annoyances = The new peel back ad.

Man, trying to get into PCW website this morning was hell on wheels!!! No matter how much I tried, the new peel back ad kept, well, peeling back! and if I tried to click on Close, it would run away from me.... aaaaaaarrrrrrrrr X-( rrrrrrggggggghhhhhh!!! That's me yelling at the inventor of this uber-annoying peel back ad. X-( No matter what I did, or how stealthily I approached the Sign In, it would creep back down....

We, this ad and I, had quite a fight this morning. It has a nightmarish, never-ending yo-yo effect! Ended up calling PCW and talking to someone there, who connected me with someone who knows about this thing, who in turn connected me to Webmaster. Turns out, Mr. Webmaster is not pleased with this ad either! He suggested a workaround, I had to go into another section of the webpage to be able to just Sign In.

We know you have to have ads to provide the kind of services you provide for all of us. But PLEASE, revise it, maybe put it on the other side of the page, make it easier, so we can click on Close, and then we can go on about our business.

Is this ad going to make people so frustrated it drives them away? What is your feedback on this peel back ad?

Yeah, Michael told me you had called and spoken with him. What he told you is correct -- there is nothing that we can do about the placement of this ad.

I would suggest adjusting your resolution settings. The peel down ad does not block the Sign In link on my monitor.

All I can tell you is what mine is set at -- 1280x1024.

The ads are not permanent, so that's something.

LOL No. I set the Discussion to "Assumed Answered." However, you can choose any post and indicate that post "Answered" your question without actually giving points.

When you click "Reply" on any post, you will see two options:

  • This post answered my question

  • This post did not answer my question

Select the former and the Discussion will automatically be deemed "Answered."
