Cash in Hand, AMD Targets Intel
I found this very informative review of the CPU's that AMD is releasing today (11-19-2007):

As predicted, AMD will be selling these new CPU's at a low cost....when you can't compete on performance, the only thing left to do is cut your prices and hope they sell - something that is not working for AMD at this time.
When you are looking to spec the machines that a large corporation will use for years, performance is the deciding factor, along with reliability, then cost. Of course, they won't be paying retail prices - not even close, so the price difference is really moot.
This bodes well for Intel, and unfortunately, not very well for AMD. Maybe AMD will be able to catch up with Intel on performance some day and be able to post a profit, but not in this phase...
