Re: Bill Gates: 10 Memorable Moments

I'm using MS software since 1982 but its creator, Bill Gates is no model for me as a person. Nevertheless, I disliked Dan Tynans' wit for I see in its use, a cheap way to catch readers by proposing non-sequitur and forced jobs to Gates according to events in his life. ¿What is the point? ¿Where is the added value of this article? ¿What did we learn from this reading? I think this was injust to Bill Gates or for that matter, to any other person.

Bullying and monopolist practices aside, Bill was a visionary no doubt. You don't see too many people running corporations and spinning out new ideas too often.

I'd like to see him take a job as a target in a fairground dunking booth. http://forums.pcworld.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/4452/dancingbanana.gif

Bill's give-and-take with attorney David Boies certainly qualifies as one of his outstanding milestones. But where is his prediction that "640K ought to be enough for anybody"?

Free market capitalism plus an eccentric genius. We are all better off because of this serendipitous combination.

10 Potential Second Careers for Bill Gates
Gates should start a new company that offers:

1. Free tech suppport to Windows users for all Microsoft products. Support reps would be located in the US and a live human would always answer the call after the first ring. Is your PC constantly freezing? No problem, this company will tell you what to do to fix it. For free.

2. Free antivirus software that is guaranteed against all threats. It will protect your PC from all the holes in Microsoft's operating systems.

3. Free online backup so when your Windows OS gets so bunged-up that you have to reinstall it, you won't lose all your data.
