Why are some users spamming this forum ?

This iz a wonderful website, why are some users spamming the whole thing ?

I can go on writing about the products that i feel are good (they may or may not be actually good) all day long and that would result in loads of discussions and blogs . Will it serve any purpose ? Does it make any sense ?

vma___eev or deadly a___ssin , plz stop spamming .

Re: Why are some users spamming this forum ?
We do allow people to recommend products and services, especially in a blog format. However, we don't allow blatant spam or people to post about products that they are personally invested in (someone they work for, a program they write, etc) without disclosing their affilliation.

If it is a discussion post, please click on the yellow triangle at the bottom of the post to report it to the moderators. If it's not a discussion post, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask one of the member moderators -- AuroraDizon mphenterprises smax013 -- and they can take care of it for you.

But to answer your question... some people find pleasure in disrupting communities. Anyone who violates our community standards are warned, and if they keep it up, removed.

I would like to know who is spamming your blogs. I am one of the regular forum members and haven't seen anything.

It appears that DeadlyAssasin is simply posting blogs in regards to software/application recommendations for the community.

Hi Techie. I believe he or she means that there are some individuals (or one person with multiple member IDs) that has been flooding the Community with application recommendations in Blogs.

As Kellie mention, that in itself is fine. Anyone can recommend anything he or she wants in a Blog. The issue comes into play when individuals try to flood the Community with recommendations in Discussion. That is where Aurora, Kellie, SMax, and myself step in.

Re: Why are some users spamming this forum ?

Well, rodrigo, I see what you are saying. However, I think Mph and Kellie summed up the procedures used in this community, and i have always found all our moderators and PCW liasions to be very pro-active once they see a concern.

I've seen some of what you've observed in postings/blogs, etc. And, I saw any issues with them rectified. It does, IMO, put some responsibility on the members to alert our Community staff if we see valid issues, our staff can't be everywhere, right folks? B-)

I do state that our Community is in very capable, active and concerned hands. Rest assured rodrigo. Those issues get resolved.

Re: Why are some users spamming this forum ?
It also greatly depends on the individual definition of spam. What I mean is, you could consider something to be spam, while I don't. Unfortunately, we can't tailor the forum content to everyone's specific and personal definitions, so you're probably going to see some stuff that you consider to be annoying and spam, but that doesn't violate our usage standards. I know it happens to me, too. But I have to look objectively at the content posted and compare it to the standards... and leave my personal opinions, likes, and dislikes out of it.

The mods and I are lucky that the community is becoming self-policing, meaning that when you all see a problem, you let us know. And when you see a user that is acting against our culture and standards here, you let them know and help to clue them in on how we roll around here. That shows that you all care about the community (which makes me all warm and fuzzy inside) and it makes our jobs easier.
