Mr. Manes:

I usually enjoy your articles, but I am greatly bewildered that you would treat SPAM so lightly. Of the problems I have encountered they normally evoke only a short word or two. SPAM is entitly different. I get so angry that I must constantly remind myself that the only reason some people are still alive is because it is unlawful to shoot them. I think I would be satisified if just one thing would go away.

Apple products are innovative but they have major problems like the unremovable battery. Mane's criticism of both MS and Apple is warranted. I know too many people who wait in line for Apple's latest whatever and then pay the price for rushing in.

1. Advertisements in paid subscriptions. Ex Quicken, Tv Guides, Apple...

2. Companies that release patches to deactivate products installed on Vista. Ex Nero 5, 6, 7 all run fine if you have half a brain, but the vista patch deactivates it and uninstalls it so you "can have the privilege of upgrading"

Re: 23 Things I Wish Would Just Go Away

1) Apps that re-enter "auto-start" rules EVERY time you use the app (Quicktime, Messenger, et al)

2) Apps that SAY they "Work with Vista", but fail to mention the absence of 64-bit support (ZONEALARM)

3) Apps that don't let you turn off the "auto-update" feature (without hacking the Registry, or manually blocking the underlying service)

4) Apps that install yet ANOTHER custom toolbar in my browser; without even asking me first
