Re: Gadgets That Solve Everyday Problems
Good luck, Steve, you will be missed.

You're the best columnist at PC World, and certainly my favorite on the Web. I’ve always enjoyed reading your columns, and have learned many terrific tricks that have helped me in my day to day dealings with these frightfully complex systems.

I have to say, though, that I was not happy when PC World changed your newsletter so that I no longer received the whole newsletter in my inbox, and only instead received a teaser with a link. Don’t know why they did that, but I sure didn’t like it. I can only guess that the decision was made by bean counters who wanted to drag your loyal readers over the coals of PC World's ads and popups by forcing them to visit the site. I, for one, do not like being manipulated like this.

Best of luck in the new venture!

Darryl Gittins

Steve, I also believe you were the best columnist at PCWorld. Most of the apps on my computers came directly from your articles. No way would I have found these great programs on my own.

You will surely be missed and you can be sure that I'll be checking your website frequently.

Steve,
You are one of the last of the great columnists of the historic PC World. You will be missed as your columns usually had good quality advice that I would use to help my computer experience. Your columns read well and easily understood (no Geek Speak). Good luck.

This will be a sad day for PC World. I also agree with other comments here especially Darryl Gittins

"I have to say, though, that I was not happy when PC World changed your newsletter so that I no longer received the whole newsletter in my inbox, and only instead received a teaser with a link. I've now unsubscribed from PC World, and will be looking forward to you new TechBite newsletter, which I've already forwarded the link to to the several hundred of my email friends.

So in the words of an old character from Trek."Live long and prosper!"

Re: Gadgets That Solve Everyday Problems
Steve,

I echo the comments of the rest...in my opinion, you're the best writer/columnist at PCWorld...hate to see you go, but I'm glad for you in your new endeavor. I've written you several times over the years, not necessarily expecting a personal response...I'm sure you get a tremendous amount of email. But you responded personally each time, and I think that's part of what makes you so good at your job - the personal touch.
Thanks for all the columns and help over the years. I'll definitely be watching Techbite.

Sorry to see you go from PCWorld. I looked forward to both your mag. column and your email column, despite the changes made to the latter by the mag. I echo the sentiments and accolades already made in this comment following your farewell message. I presume you are phasing into retirement mode. Having done that nearly 12 years ago, I recommend it.

PC World is a fine magazine but Steve Bass made it really interesting to me. Thats what attracted me to it in the first place...now I guess I'll have to move on too.
